I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue 2009

As the general thread is locked, let's have a dedicated one.

I thought this week (Ep 3) was much better for two reasons.

One, Jack Dee. I'm not a fan of his per se but he was much better than Stephen Fry.

Two, the return of Jeremy Hardy. He should be signed up on a four year contract. He's much cleverer than Tevez and in my book worth much more ! :) (possibly better looking too!)

:P

I thought that tonight's episode was good as well. Nice to see the return of Mornington Crescent.

Yes, good show tonight. In places it was as good as it ever was. Jack Dee is just about ideal for the role, although he seemed a little hesitant now and then.

I liked the way they got round the problem of having to have an expert on hand for Mornington Crescent. Also welcome was Sound Charades and a good line for Samantha.

I'm looking forward to Rob Brydon. The show can definitely come back for more series if it stays like this. I just hope they relegate Fry back to the teams.

In case anyone didn't see this . .

Dear I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue Mailing List Member,

I hope you have been enjoying the new series of the programme. I've been inundated with emails in praise of Jack Dee's recent chairmanship, which is just as well, as Jack will be hosting our third UK Tour of the show, which starts with three dates in July, and continues in late September and early October. Apologies to those of you in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland - we were unlucky with venues but will try for some further dates in early 2010. In the meantime, this is the full schedule:

Not all the September/October venues may have put their tickets on sale yet, but all should have within a few days. Like previous touring shows, this show will include some of the most popular rounds played on the programme over the years - there should be be some real highlights. And once more, Tim, Barry and Graeme will be joined by Jeremy Hardy. As usual it's advisable to book early as the shows tend to sell out quite quickly. Each show starts at 7.30pm and should be finished by around 10pm.

That's about the size of it. We'd like to thank you all for your continued support, and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at these shows.

With best wishes

Yes I already heard about that. I've got tickets for the show in York.

So Jack Dee is chairman on all of those dates? That bodes well. Should have bedded in and lined up a nice bit of banter for the next series...

What did everyone think of Rob Brydon's turn as host. I thought he was rather good, but as I was at the recording my view is somewhat biased.

Good, but not as good as Jack Dee. Better than Fry though.

I'm assuming they are broadcast in the order they are recorded; this one was Brydon's first show and next week will be the one recorded straight after - I reckon he'll be better next week. Fry's second show was better than the first - it must be daunting to sit in that chair for the first time.

Still think its Jack Dee's role. Born for it.

I agree. I don't think we can imagine how much !

An aspidestra would be better than Fry. I liked Brydon, he had a real confidence in the role. Not as good as Dee, but kept everything ticking along nicely.

I see that Dee is the host for the upcoming tour. Maybe this is a sign that they recognise him to be the most effect host thus far.

What they really shouldn't do after this series is alternate the hosts. It doesn't work on a programme like this, that's basically reliant on the contuining and repetetive relationship between hosts and combatants.

And, who ever told Phil f**king Jupitus that he's funny? Eh?

Wonder what sort of a fist Boris would make of it ! ! ?

:P

The kind of fist that envelopes an engorged member, I would think.

It was a good episode I thought. I was fond of Phill's attempts to sing "Roxanne", but then again my parents are probably the biggest Sting fans in Teesside.

I was annoyed however they didn't broadcast Mornington Crescent. It was played when I went to see it - why not put it out? During the entire course of this series, Mornington Crescent was only broadcast once!

Interestingly, after the episode finished they said that ISIHAC would return in the autumn. We'll have to see whether they will have new hosts or not.

Tonights was better than last week. Like I said earlier, I think they all needed that first show to settle down in. Brydon was best in one of the teams though - great singer.

If they are returning in the Autumn like the announcer says, then surely it must be Jack Dee as chair - look at the tour dates on the previous page - 3 dates in July, then September and October, all with Dee. Would they record 6 shows in the middle of a tour with a different chairman for those shows only?
