Favourite theme tunes (which have lyrics)

I like the old cheesy theme songs.
Especially if one of the stars of the show is singing it.
What's your favourite?
Is it The Goodies? Dad's Army?

Has anyone heard the whole Rainbow theme?
It's quite a Hippyish song when you hear it in it's entirety. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJsaujSs7Fw

I'll go for this one.
(As you can't read the lyrics without trying to sing it)

We've got some half-price cracked ice
And miles and miles of carpet tiles,
TVs, deep freeze, and David Bowie LPs,
Ball games, gold chains, whassa-names, and at a push,
Some Trevor Francis track suits from a mush in Shepherds Bush,
Bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush….
No income tax, no V.A.T.
No money back, no guarantee,
Black or white, rich or broke,
We'll cut prices at a stroke.
God bless Hooky Street,
Viva Hooky Street,
Long live Hooky Street,
C'est magnifique, Hooky Street,
Magnifique, Hooky Street,
Hooky Street — Hooky Street — Hooky Street.

Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads?.

One of them got an infected haemerroid and died.

It's cold outside there's no kind of atmosphere...
Up from the deep 30 stories breathing fire his head in the sky Godzilla!

And GodZuki
da da da da da da da da da da

Japans answer to Scrappy do

Cheers is brilliant. I never fast forward as it sets the mood perfectly.

Mentioning Godzuki should be a crime it's certainly something to be ashamed of.

:$
( Hope that's the embarrassed smiley - I can't always tell )

To be honest I think that a lot of shows miss a trick by not singing the theme tune.

Cue- Up tempo Rock & roll boppy music

Bada Bada Bada Bah
We're sitting in our base with Aliens in our Face
We're Torchwood - We're Torchwood.
Our leaders Captain Jack, you kill him he comes back
We're Torchwood - We're Torchwood

Always we have missions that are Risky
That is why we often get quite frisky

We've killed most of the Crew We're not like Doctor Who
We're Torchwood - We're Torchwood
The Aliens will find we'll creep up from behind
At Torchwood - At Torchwood
Torchwoooooood

:$ Whistling nnocently

I think John Sullivan has composed some top theme-tunes. The ending to Citizen Smith is absolutely brilliant, he wrote and sang the opening and ending credits to Only Fools and he did the same with The Green Green Grass, which is the (only) good thing about that show.

M*A*S*H

But the TV series used an instrumental version of 'Suicide is Painless'.

Some of my favourites are from cheesy late 1970s/early 1980s American sitcoms.

To name a few....

Maude
Diff'rent Strokes
The Jeffersons
The Facts of Life
Happy Days

Charles in Charge.

I'm going to be very boring and obvious by saying I love the theme song to Firefly.

Apparently, during the pitch for the show, Joss Whedon, who created the show and the theme song broke out the guitar and sung it live.

No, not boring. The Ballad of Serenity fits the show perfect.

Does Red Dwarf count? Always loved that song. The best is Dad's Army, by a long chalk. Sometimes find myself humming it at work.
