But he's the kind of kid that would be perfecty happy to go to a big band concert or to our local Jazz fest.

Kids need to appreciate jazz. I brought mine to a bunch of jazz shows, but I'm not sure if any of it stuck.

Connor, he's my avatar, is very into old Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Dave Brubeck. But then he'll snitch my Flogging Molly Float cd or my Johnny Cash American IV. I don't think he's figured out what he likes yet, but at least he tries.

My mother was stealing my Pogues CDs almost 20 years ago. I guess you just have to let them follow their hearts. Sounds like you're raising the kiddos well, by the way. Congrats.

Thanks, I get very little credit from the husband and grandparents on both sides. Connor just got back from summer camp in Kentucky and he has no Deliverance-type story to tell, so I guess it went well. He kept quizzing me on my knowledge of camp songs and Kentucky history. If I hear Turn, Turn, Turn one more time I think my head will explode. But tomorrow we go to our local airshow so he'll have WWII music stuck in his head for a while. Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition!!!

To avert our US members "monopolizing" this thread, I thought I'd just add;

WAYLTN? Vietnam Song. Country Joe McDonald.

The Prodigy - Warriors Dance

Mariah Carey and some guy performing "I'll Be There" at MJ's Memorial Gig.

Eddie Cochran - C'mon Everybody

A Radio 6 special about the history of pop. The announcer just pronounced the home of Motown "Mitch-igan." Heh.

Not Detroit?

Thank you. I am not always right and I don't need to be right all the time, but my God he is really good at being wrong. He hated Wilco, doesn't like Flogging Molly, and hid my Pogues cds on me. But, in the car, I am forced to listen to Korn and Nickleback at full blast over and over. How is that ok?

You listen to the Pogues, and your husband listens to Korn and Nickelback?

Blimey.

I like him. :)

Bobby Darin - Dream Lover

Lots of Pulp.

Shouldn't that have been posted in the "What are You Drinking?" thread?

And what's wrong with that? You Yanks always pronounce things wrongly.

Yes, it's just outside of Lass Vegas.

You'll be telling me Pasta should be pronounced Possta next - and Herbs are 'Erbs.

Loads of Brian Wilson and Beach Boys after his epic performance (with eleven-piece band) at Guilfest yesterday.

Did you go? I planned to. Yet another person who'll probably die before I get around to seeing them. Not that I'll see him when he's dead.

I'm listening to Let's dance by Chris Montez off that 3 CD compilation I was listening to yeterday.

Did The Charlatons play, or was that on another day? I keep missing them and wanted to go to this but couldn't.

Only with Vodka. :)

Btw Pulp's Seductive Barry is one of the sexiest songs ever.

I don't think I would have enjoyed Edi Reader anyway. Wasn't there a comedy tent? Any good?

I only saw Pulp a couple of times and got a bottle in the face when they were playing Reading (a small full bottle of water) and had to leave early to see a medic. I have danced about a foot infront of Jarvis when he was DJing at a house party though.

That's what you call a schoolboy error.

The Jesus & Mary Chain - 'Psychocandy'
