I'd say it was above mediocre, though it couldn't be considered great cos The Royle Family and Early Doors were so good.

I much preferred The Smoking Room to either - one of my favourite sitcoms of recent years.

That was great too.

I loved The Smoking Room!
It deserved at least one more series.

You're not allowed to smoke indoors anymore. I guess that's why it ended.

They could have done smoking carpark.

At my husband's work, they have this shitty little screen room attached to the back of the building, with these little motorized walls that go up and down. On a hot day the walls are up and you can see all these pitiful looking people smoking their cheapo cigs. And getting all sweaty. So, how about:

Shitty Little Screened-in Smoking Enclosure!!

You can still get legal smoking Portakabins in some workplaces? Or if they all met up in a designated smoking room in a hotel? Or certain areas of the House Of Commons (hypocritical, self-serving bastards)?

Well I'd say at its best it was mediocre, so where does that leave us? Errr

At its best it was brilliantly observed, but a lot of the jokes were 'too sitcommy' which sort of jarred with the rest of it and did make it feel a bit crap at times. Also the second series wasn't that great apart from the episode where a guy comes in to try and get them to quit smoking.

What perhaps peeved me is that it made smokers look like a bunch of narcotically-pacified, shallow, emotionally-labile, anti-social bunch of unattractive gits.

Whereas most of us are cool, intellectually and emotionally complex and extremely sexy. (The comedy lesson here is "Keep It Real".)

I gave up smoking years ago and started again a few days ago. It wasn't as nice as I remembered.

Dolly! I can guess why, but no... really? :O

My husband/roommate worked at a gas station as a kid and took up smoking then. Now, many years later, any time he puts gas in our car he craves a smoke.

Yeah, I thought it would be fun but it wasn't enjoyable at all and I've not smoked since Thursday. But I do have some morphine-based meds I've pilfered now!

But that's dangerous!

I never said he was clever. And I think he probably stole the cigarettes and smoked them inside the store, not out by the pump.

Man, I just keep making him look worse. :P
