Hee, that was on the front page of one of my local papers today!

Henman: It's a ball of worms. They usually live above ground (well, in the ground... not in sewers), but have somehow got down there, and so are all clinging together. They're all wrapped up so tight that when one twitches, for lack of a better word, all of the others follow in a massive chain reaction, thus looking like a living, pulsing organism.
