The last couple of days I've been going through the extras on the The Office Series 2 and Christmas Specials DVDs. There were making of documentaries, stuff about the Golden Globes and the like and it struck me very strongly that you never quite know how life will turn out. The lives of everyone that worked on that show were utterly transformed by those 14 episodes.
It's like the secret Santa gift from Tim to Dawn. She was being told to forget about illustrating because she wasn't any good by fiancé Lee but Tim gave her paints with a card that implored her to 'Never give up'. None of us should - we just have to believe.
Gervais was around 40 by the time it all kicked off for him despite having a brush with fame before that. He's found the promised land and good luck to him. Even if you don't like the guy, we should take inspiration from his success.
