I think she'd protest, anyway!

Nah...Ish...Well, only because she knew that the fate of the world may be at stake.
I want a cat dressed as a chicken!
My Facebook feed indicates to me that Aaron did indeed get a First for his degree, so many congratulations!
It does appear that way, yes.

Congratulations. Though your diffidence suggests you're not overly bothered.
Well firstly, I don't know for certain.
Secondly, a first from my university is akin to a fail at any other.

I'm guessing you're not by nature a 'glass-half-full' kind of guy.
Not recently, no. I'm a realist. The down-sides are colossal.

The down-sides to getting a first is...?
Apart from obviously.

*high five*
Aaron has many attributes which should more than make up for him "only" gaining a first.
Who needs certificates anyway? Mine aren't worth the paper they're forged on.

It creates an expectation, sets preconceptions, that I certainly cannot live up to. As I say, a first at this uni is a fail at any other. I would feel a great sense of dishonesty if I were to include that I got a first on my CV. It doesn't equate to any real abilities. I feel I no more deserve it than had I bought it from one of those dodgy Nigerian businessmen operating out of a converted flat above a pound shop on a back road in Bermondsey.

I'm not sure what you mean here...?

C.V.s are no place at all to start feeling all moralistic about the truth. And I don't think I deserve the degree I got, as it involved very little work on my part, but you should still put it down. If it gets you the foot in the door doing the degree will have served it's purpose.
And better to have the first than be kicking yourself for a lower degree from the same university.
