Amway

I was just wondering if anyone had any experiance of doing Amway as a business?

If so what where your thoughts?

It has been proposed to me and with my contacts could be quite a good opportunity - but like with all things I like to sound things out.

Aparently the products are great and worth joining to buy for yourself.
But the selling, the few people I knew who did it became assholes.

Want to set up a business? Why not put together a standup evening?

Yep, that's a guaranteed goldmine...

Back to Amway, I remember seeing a flyer for some headf**k conference my sucker mate was going to, and one of the session titles said "The Will To Win - CANCELLED".

Laughing out loud

Soots - explain to my poor frazzled brain why a standup evening is a goldmine.

Don't you need a pub?

Hire one out Bigfella and you could also compere the event dressed as Henry VIII
and sell Amway products at the same time. When they're laughing they'll buy f**king anything.
:P

P.S. Is Amway anything like Kleeneze?

RE; Amway.

Pretty much what's already been said.

Good products, but selling them seems to turn regular people into irritating, over-enthusiastic twats.

Why not try Avon?

Well it ain't a goldmine but if you organise better than most of the asses who run nights then it can be a passable earner apparently.

Thats hardly a business model my friend ;)

Amway is pretty much a smaller scale version of what Madoff did, so you could make 60 billion dollars and goto prison for 150 years.

Well if I did it, I'd be selling their cleaning products. Principlly to markets I already know - care homes.

I don't know much about lippy.

Aren't there much more profitable specialised product companies?

Once in prison I could arrange the stand up nights.

Back to the stand up - what are the problems with the current "events" that go on.

Lousy unenthused promoters.

Lousy unenthused promoters.

Okay - lets work through this idea.

First you need a venue.

What is recommended?

Pub? If so how does the promoter make cash? Doesn't the landlord take the cash?

Where else can you hold such an event.

Depends with the pub. Some just take the bar takings, other pubs charge for hire of a room plus take the bar takings. You need to phone around.

So you as promoter take the "ADMISSION FEE" ?

What about alternatives to a pub - somewhere where the promotor could take all the money.

What about a village hall or similar where you could also run your own bar and do your own food?

Would this work? Does it happen?
