What are you drinking? Page 62

Ah, but it's me corking it. The corkage charge is... illegal in three and a half counties.

I want to ask about the corking but fear has gripped me!

It's Dolly, right?

Not always.

Alcohol-free Becks, yummy...

How does that work given you're - presumably - not drinking. Is it an ok taste substitute? I know it's probablya very complicated issue, so feel free to ignore me.

Pirate Live a bit! Ask away. Maybe I'll even tell you how my hands are registered as lethal weapons on eleven fifteenths of Brighton Pier.

Did it involve a kiss me quick hat and cold hands in 2003? If so, we've met before....

Ah. That was you? I always imagined you being a bit less...masculine. ;)

Its the 10 yr old stuff. Got it as a gift from a friend after I was diagnosed with cancer. Not exactly the most thoughtful gift.

Oh dear! I hope all's well now.

I wouldn't drink it if it didn't taste good (obviously). You can tell there's no alcohol in it, but that's all. I don't drink it as a substitute, if that makes sense. Without the alcohol I'm not in a rush to get the next bottle. May drink six in a week, really now into my fruit juices more. In 14 weeks I really haven't had any craving for the taste of alcohol. Once you accept that you just can't touch alcohol (which is the hardest step) it's all really psychological and emotional development to stay away from it.

But it's a very nice drink when chilled on a hot night, and at less than £4 for a six pack it certainly saves money! :)

Eeek.

Currently drinking the can of worms I've just opened! Hope all's ok now. The ten year old's one is good. The green one - think it's 15 years - is my all-time favourite.

I didn't drink for over three years for a good reason. I didn't miss it at all. :)

Yeah, I'm doing okay. I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 31, 2 weeks before Christmas 2007. Thanks for asking.

Well that's a show stopper. Are you in remission or is the shitty little illness in full swing? My advice is to keep breathing and posting. For every 500 posts you get nectar points you can put towards a poster of Aaron sticking his memory stick into Zooo's hard drive.

That does indeed make sense. I don't often get too schaltzy (ironically I'm a little bit drunk now) but I wish you all the best with this. Hope that doesn't sound too patronising, as I normally do when I'm being sincere.

Yeah, I'm in remission. I have a mountain of tests to go through and I still have a massive amount of reconstructive surgery ahead of me. I'm taking it all in stride. The most frustrating part is that I got the type of cancer that women in their 50s and 60s get. There is no family history and I'm in excellent health otherwise. So, as Tim stated, on a hot night 10 year old Bushmills tastes mighty fine.

Not at all. Cheers, mate. Life has got much better, much quicker than expected. Some of us just can't drink normally, that's that. Certainly don't begrudge it to those who can. I've done my drinking for a couple of lifetimes. :)

Best wishes with this, Andrea.
