Thats what I said. Tell you something really funny. I once got very drunk and told my French flatmate this who was studying maths and told him he could work it out mathematically and he spent 2 hours trying

Even though its not really a saying, i reckon cockney rhyming slang is one of the most pointless and annoying things that you can come out with. "Would you adam and eve it ey'?" NO!!! I WOULDNT!!! BECAUSE 'ADAM AND EVE' IS NOT A GOD DAMN VERB.

That 'have your cake and eat it' thing bothered me for AGES. But I finally figured out that it means: if you eat the cake, you don't have it anymore.
So it's one or the other.
But it's not "have your cake or eat it"...
