He's called Ted. He was a deformed King Edward I found at the back of the cupboard growing arms and feet.

I've seen better photos of Phil Mitchell.

On your bedroom wall?

Quote: hey_nonny @ July 3 2009, 10:12 AM BSTNot really, just thinking two minds work better than one.
The best sitcoms are often written by more than one person, ie Blackadder, Red Dwarf etc..
While this may be true, often it is the meeting of great minds. I personally wouldn't want to work with someone who isn't perfectly capable of writing a cracking script on their own. And I have done with both variations on a number of occassions.
Sounds to me like you want to get on a comedy writing course of some sort hey nonny. Find the tools to self edit and maybe meet one of those like minds there.
Mind you in Germany it might be tricky.

But if they could do that, why would they want to write with you? (That';s not having a dig, merely saying, if you can do it alone, why bother doing it with somone else).
Surely there are some examples of collaborators who are better together than alone?

Gin and tonic. Horrible on their own. Great together.

It's like being a solo singer or being in a band. It's all good. If you are working with people who know what they are doing. Croft and Perry for example never wrote together after the first pilot script of Dads Army, as far as I know, but there was certainly a collaboration.

OK, here goes.
I personally don't like my finished Sitcom anymore but it is funny in places I hope.
Reason why I don't like it, a few weeks back I had an even better idea for a new sitcom, which I'm really, really excited about and can't think of anything else right now..
If somebody reads my entire finished script, likes it and can improve on it thenthat's the sort of person I could start a new script with.
How else do you find the right person for you to collaborate with?
I've got a lot of half finished projects I can't be arsed to get right either. If someone can finish them up for me and sell them we could go fifty fifty on the proceeds but I would would want the Created by credit.

Yes, but who do you like on the forum? Who's work in Critique to you quite like, or whose posts do you read and agree with? There at least needs to be a common interest to begin with. And what's in it for the person you collaborate with?
Quote: chipolata @ July 3 2009, 10:27 AM BSTI get the impression that the people who collaborate on this site do so largely on sketches. It'd be interesting to see how many work together on bigger projects.
I've collaborated with someone who also uses this site on a couple of sitcom scripts.

Thats the point, how do you find a collaborator?

Don't shows with 2 writers go 50/50 ?
Sod it!
Will just send it off and start my new one.

That's the spirit! Get them really fired up and interested to see the one you care about.
