I like this even if it reminds me of Viz's Fruit Bun and the film Lars and the Real Girl.

I do think it needs a big twist to move it away from the fact that similar stuff exists. Maybe he was 2 timing her with a melon with a hole in it and arranged her murder?

And she was two-timing him with the same melon, arranging his murder!

Melon wins!

Dan

Damn melons so sweet, so seductive, so cunning.

Fruit T Bun? Is that the pervert baker who makes cakes shaped like women so he can have sex with them? That's quite a different vibe I think. I've not seen Lars and the Real Girl but as you're the second person to mention it I'll have to check it out.

Well more the idea of a guy having a relationship with an inaminate object, that still kind of chnages in reaction their actions.

Another good one David.

When you reveal the kids [who would be hybrid human/plastic], couldn't you use images of Jordan and Mr Blobby?

Now that's a great punchline, the kids aren't his they're Blobbys!

Cos Blobby should've worn a blobby when he was on the jobby.

Cheers, Geoff. A bit complicated for a closing gag I think, although you raise and interesting point about the kids being hybrids. I'll do something with that.

What about cutting from the graveside to Heaven and have the doll siiting on God's lap, Pete's face etc.

I'd prefer to keep things in the real world if possible. The absurdity gets diluted when you mix is up with other absurdities, like religion.

I'll have to check that one out. Any idea which series it was from?

I think it was Armstrong and Miller.

The BBC one, series one. It's not the same as your sketch but it has a similar vibe.

Yes, it reminded me of something as well; i.e. good, well thought-out comedy, which is precisely what it was. There's not a lot of it about. :D
