This is the case I sat in on. Glad I wasn't chosen for the jury.

Oh that would have been upsetting. You did well.

Yikes.
So you're all done now?

And the verdict was...

Mentalist.

Aaron is tired after much database-ing. And hot. And fed up. And poor.

Chipolata managed to persuade the cats not to sleep on the bed with him last night. Didn't matter. He still didn't sleep. Angry

Chipolata's off to visit a deer park. Wave

Yes. I spent my day in court and now I'm exempt from being called up again for the next 3 years.

And the verdict was...

We were told that the defendant had decided to plead guilty, thus negating the need to establish guilt or innocence. The jury's job will be to choose a punishment from the state-mandated guidelines: something between 10 years' probation and 20 years in prison. I assume she'll head to prison for a short stay, but the trial isn't expected to conclude until Wednesday.

As you probably know, in the UK, the jury does not get to set the punishment, that is always done by the Judge(s).

Ellie is on her last ditch attempt to get sponsorship money for her 10k run on Sunday. So nervous.

Robyn is feeling very warm, and has had spent the morning and afternoon so far reading, sewing buttons back onto things and clearing up. I'm doing so much for female stereotypes. Cool
