British Comedy Guide

What are the names of these BBC comedy progs?

Hi,

Does anyone know what these acronyms of BBC comedy progs are abbreviations for?

My parents asked me about these in a brief email - don't know why.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A. A. (1984 - 1988) Not "'Allo! 'Allo!" (82 - 92)
S.A.S. (1962 - 1974) "Steptoe and Son"?
T.D.U.D.P. (1965 - 1981)
B.O.A.F. (1989 - 1980) "Birds of a Feather"?
C.S. (1977 - -1980)
T.B.E. (1991 - 1997) "The Brittas Empire"?

I've looked on the BBC's comedy shows index: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/shows/index.shtml
but can't find some of the progs.

Thanks.

Steptoe And Son
Till Death Us Do Part
Birds Of A Feather
Citizen Smith
The Brittas Empire

*ponders the other*

The only thing I can think of is that whoever's set these questions has got dates wrong, and it IS 'Allo 'Allo!... There's Acorn Antiques of course, but that was a series of sketches in another show between 1985 and 1987.

Any idea if they're all sitcoms, or might the other be a sketch show, comedy drama, etc?

Hi,

Thanks for the help.

They seem to be pretty adamant about the dates of "A. A.", but who knows?

If they come back with any corrections, I'll probably be back for some help.

Thanks, again.

My pleasure. :)
