Quote: bigfella @ June 29 2009, 11:23 AM BSTOkay rang the police.
This was my nice call - just reminding them that it was now monday and my daughter had not yet seen a police officer.
The man hurried away to find the DC who has the case and to get him to ring.
We wait for three hours - then do my not so nice call.
As a regular joe public I'm concerned that a violent offender wandering about bothers the police so little.

Because they don't have anywhere to put them all?
Have you thought about bringing a civil case against this girl, Bigfella, for GBH, or ABH?
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ June 29 2009, 11:34 AM BSTThere's a vast range of mental health problems. What about someone suffering from a psychotic episode and hallucinating?
The person living in a completely hallucinatory world 24/7 is a bit of a myth.
Some people live partially or part of the time and I suppose in those few cases maybe a defence of mental ill health should stand.
But depression, generic learning disability, even feeling bloated from junk food are all crappy excuses people have used.
And sociopathic personality just means defies analysis.

The civil action is a good idea.
As for the first bit come one no way is she going to jail of any sort, she's going to get an ASBO to add to her collection.

Totally. They just hope you forget.
When something nasty happened to me, the police came... they said someone will be in touch the next day. Nothing. I didn't hear anything again. I didn't have the name of someone to contact when I got over the shock a week later and so just left it. I guess it's just easier for them that way if people leave it.

I had - but wanted to get the criminal stuff done first!
Would it be better just going to the station? Then they have to see you, even if you have a bit of a wait?
You could claim the offending girl was,
1 Wearing a Climate Change Now T shirt!
2 Had a bag full of MP's expenses forms
3 Had several unpaid congestion charge tickes.

I understand.
Didn't the police attend the incident when it happened?
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ June 29 2009, 11:48 AM BSTWould it be better just going to the station? Then they have to see you, even if you have a bit of a wait?
I was about to suggest that!
But don't discuss it in the waiting area they can record what you say there and use it as evidence.

Dress up as Henry VIII and stalk her.

What, are you supposed to go up on the roof and discuss things?
No at home before you get there.
You do realise that I mean discussing amongst each other?

Maybe, but I'd rather they come round our house. I don't want my daughter to feel intimidated in the police station environment.
Also, it gives something for our neighbours to talk about a nice police care outside!

Whoever did this should be off the streets immediately, and get a custodial sentence. You really cannot allow behaviour like this in society.
The problem is that for a long time the enemy within have been chipping away inside the system, so you cannot punish anyone anymore, teachers, parents and the police have their hands tied, and people who should be punished get away with doing what they want. No party has the will, or the inclination to turn it around. If kids don't want an education, they cause havoc at school and you can't touch them. The parents, usually single parent families, let them do whatever they want and can't control them. Then a few years down the line you have these problem kids having their own families, who just follow the pattern.
The solution? Punish wrongoers, not the innocent. Give the power to discipline back to teachers, parents and the police. And believe in concepts like right and wrong, once again.
Well the fear of complaint with in all public services is palpable.
