Yes true. Alot of people over here can't stand Sharon anymore-just a gobshite with too much money to blow on her facelifts and boob jobs.

Her daughter is messed up on drugs too.

The son Jack, seems a cool kid though.

Jack was messed up on drugs for a while, too. I have a hunch that the best member of the Osbourne family is the daughter who refused to participate in the television show.

yeah they have another daughter too, Amy.

Fair play to her really.

Are you bored of 'the Beckhams' as much as we are?

We had a sad situation here not too long ago. This asshole, who has been fired from multiple jobs, waited outside the workplace of the last person to blow him in for sexual harassment and began to attack her when she came out of work. Two people saw the struggle, stopped to help and were also attacked. In the end, the girl died, the man that tried to help died, and the other woman who tried to help was able to get away after being shot and made it to the police station. The attacker then drove to my small sleepy town, went door to door trying to find the house of another woman whom he had harassed and assaulted, found the house, tied up the woman and her husband, and kept their 2 children hostage, one of which is a very close friend of my 11 year old son (he has cerebral palsy and was hours behind on his medication). After hours of this, he shot the parents execution style and left the house. Eventually he was caught. We are about a month away from 2 major murder trials and this scum, who has been positively identified by everyone he came in contact with, and his wife are now saying that he did nothing wrong. They're trying to get him off on technicalities and that the women were the ones to drive him to it. He feels he was justified. Every time this comes up in the papers I just sit there stunned, trying to understand how someone feels that such actions are justified. Sorry, had to vent. I have a terrified 11 year old who jumps every time the doorbell rings and I know that nothing I can say will never make him feel truly safe.

:O W.o.w.

They really haven't made much of a splash over here. Soccer/football is not a big draw and neither were the Spice Girls.

I went to university after I left the Army and I can say with confidence that at least 75% of the students I encountered would have benefited from a few months in boots. What a bunch of whiny, self-important twats who felt like the world owed them a comfortable existence and there wasn't any problem that couldn't be solved by complaining and begging and finger pointing. Sick

Students are, almost without exception, whining liberal lefty c**ts.

You're privileged lifestyle is dependent on the abuse and robbing of peasant workers all around the world.

Damn straight. It's the natural order.

Nothing's worse than a whiny teenager with a huge sense of entitlement (yet a minuscule sense of history and common sense) being told by a bunch of ideological professors that they're correct in their assumptions about how the world should work. Thank God most of them grow up eventually.

What kind of bad ass toddlers do you know??

Laughing out loud

I'd like to return to a time when people were scared of the police.

And their Victorian-style prisons.

Your schools are still in session? Ours have been out for weeks. How can your kids get in trouble if they're in school all year long?

Yes, it is still term time for another 2 or 3 weeks.

Wow. I guess they don't go back until Octoberish?

No September - 6 weeks off.

Depends on the school. Generally the break is 6 or 7 weeks, so an average would be 2nd week of September.

It's been many years since my kids and I were in school, but I seem to recall that the year ended the first week of June and we were back at the end of August. 180-day school year, if I remember correctly.

What other breaks do you have during the year? Generally, schools have 3 terms, with 2-week breaks between them, and a 1-week half-term break in the middle of each of those. So 6 weeks off over summer, and 7 the rest of the year, plus the odd handful of days as bank holidays etc - makes around 3 and a half months off school (not including weekends).

Start a school thread Aaron. It would be soooo exciting.

You knows it.

Anyway, on the topic of national service, basically what we need is to make the DofE compulsory and beef it up a bit. Rename it DofE eXXXtrEME! and every kid will be only too eager to take part.
