The other that pissed me off was that there were five people in A+E because of attacks or fights.

If this wasn't needed.

1. The times to be seen would be quicker
2. The money could be spent on cancer treatment or something.

The emergency rooms here always ask if the injury was the result of a crime and if the police were involved. I broke my teeth and cracked my jaw while clowing around with handcuffs when I was a teenager (just drunken fun, not a kinky sex thing) and it took me forever to convince the admitting nurse that I wasn't under arrest at the time.

My father fell through our ceiling when I was a kid and the doctor insisted that he'd been in a fight and wanted to call the cops. It wasn't until they started removing splinters and plaster from the wound on his mouth that they accepted his story.

Why do you think that is? It's because they (the authorities) can't do shit, because they know they'll get brought up on the HRA or some associated liberal bollocks. Just abolish it. Bring in some proper punishments and consequences. Protect teachers, not the unruly f**kers they're meant to deal with. Train police properly, build massive prisons with horrible conditions, and throw people in for pretty much every offence going.

That'd be expensive I'd really like to see the death sentence to return for repeat offending on all crimes.

Shop lifting, public urination, violating the congestion charge do 'em 3 times and that's it you're done.

But if most criminals come from broken homes it's not really enough to execute the offender. We need to start looking at patterns of offending behaviour and eliminating them.

Wasn't it old Milk Snatcher who closed the borstals and got rid of corporal punishment?

Not sure about borstals, but corporal punishment in state schools went in 1986, yes.

Oh, and scrap comprehensives and reintroduce grammars.

No way.
Just life in prison. (No parole).

I saw an albino black girl today. She had dreadlocks and everything. Very strange.

My friend's daughter is black and has twin daughters. One is albino and always draws stares.

Another friend e-mailed a few days ago to report that he'd caught an albino rainbow trout.

Aaron, I take it you are still as Conservative as ever?

Yes. And issues like this make me moreso.

Well maybe slave labour, what ever as long as the prisons turn a profit.

One good thing about my nation's lack of nationalized health care is that criminals are often ordered to repay a victim's medical costs. So they get hit with a bill for tens of thousands of dollars.

Yes, but everything's expensive, and it'd certainly be worth it. The initial outlay on prison construction would be nothing compared to the long-term savings of NHS dealing with injuries inflicted, police dealing with petty crime, payouts, compensation, etc. Invest now to reap the rewards long term.

In what ways? It's exactly the kind of liberal stuff they've been failing at for the past 12 years, no?

Okay!
Anything but the death penalty, please. :)

:) Very true.

That could be good - get them to pay the NHS for the treatment.

That's an awesome idea.
And funeral costs if they kill them.
And money for their kids who now have to grow up without a dad, that sort of thing. Ace.

Nationalised health has nothing to do with it. If there was the political will then the Government could force the offender to foot the cost.

I meant killing the entire family. If you get rid of parents who produce sociopaths you have less sociopaths.

You know family sized gallows with SpongeBob nooses for the under 10s.
