Scum

There is far too much scum on our streets.

On Friday my 15 year old daughter went out to a small club with her friend and her parents. This club allows under eighteens in.

She went outside with her friend for some air. And she was violently assulted by another 15 year old girl who accused her of "calling her a man" - which she says she didn't. Basically she was pushed to the ground and was kicked in the head and ribs repeatably.

Fortuantly after X-Rays her skull wasn't factured but she has one completly closed eye because of the swelling and both eyes are black, she has further bruising on her nose and the side of her face.

Also some of the other girls there identified the piece of scum in question and the whole incident has been reported to the police. Who hopefully are coming to see us tommorow. But our concerns are that nothing much will happen.

This happened in Tunbridge Wells, hardly the crime capital of the world. When we were in A+E another 4 young people came in with injuries caused by attacks. Two more of them women.

What the f**k is happening to this country?

I have written to our MP to ask him to raise the issue of violent crime in the commons - but feel I should be doing more, my wife would quite happily take matters into her own hands.

What more can I do?

I am very sorry to hear that. I hope she recovers fully and speedily and that justice is done.

I don't know what the answer is, scum are everywhere - recently a friend was mugged on a bus and my son had something thrown from a bridge as he was driving underneath it; it turned out to be a pillow but of course was terrifying for him.

This is nothing new though, I was attacked for no reason on a main street in broad daylight over 20 years ago.

That kind of assault in the U.S. would prompt an immediate police response and the suspect would be arrested and carted off to the jail. I'd raise a huge ruckus if something like that happened to my daughter and the cops didn't get involved.

I hope your daughter recovers quickly and the scum finds a new home in a cell somewhere.

What he said ^ and prosecute their arses off. Don't take matters in to your own hands particularly if these are minors. You will create a whole new world of misery for yourselves. Take it from one who knows.

Terribly sorry to hear this Bigfella and I wish your daughter well and a speedy recovery.

The problem is there should be no violent crime in this country. We're rich, have a hugely generous welfare state and a huge generously funded social services system.

The problem is that we can not and will not pass judgement on people.

If you;re a violent bully, thief criminal or an abuser of any description then you're a victim deserving of understanding and care.
The sheer contempt most of the young criminals I worked with treated the law.

And working with vulnerable adults living in the community. The absolute acceptance of them being victims of crime really made me ill.

This is utterly true. Unless you can murder them without leaving any evidence.

It's only when faced with the law that people realise how hopeless things are.

A friend of mine was beaten unconcious by a stalker with a hammer, who then jumped out of a window.

She (the victim) was arrested in hospital, when she woke up 2 days later.

Oh and if some one cloned your credit card to buy kiddy porn, then you can look forward to being prosecuted.

Please explain. Why was she arrested?

She hurt his hammer?

They thought she pushed him out of the window and then passed out.
Actually that's a guess, they withdrew the charges sharpish when she lawyered up.
Maybe they thought he was swinging at her defensively whilst she was shoving him out of the window (she was quite small).

WTF? You guys need better cops.

We have very good cops choked by red tape and targets from central office.
They spend half their time helping community support officers do anything more difficult then pick their noses.
Except when they're permitted to whomp some protestors then they get stuck in.

Thanks for the comments.

What we need is some politicians prepared to pass decent laws in this country that put the fear of God into people. Have the bastards breaking rocks somewhere.

We don't need to pat these people on the back and tell them to say sorry.

This girl has a record of such things - so why is she out on the streets? I don't care if she is only fifteen.

We are lucky that she didn't have a knife.

And we need more police on the streets, doing something.

I've said it before, drink is a massive problem in this country - the desire to get pissed! I've been there and done it, but have hardly touch a drop for ten years. When your pissed you don't know what your're doing half the time. So that needs sorting out as well - hammer up the price of booze, increase the legal age to 21.

So does every country.

My ex and his friend were walking home with a female student a few years ago along the sea front when four men suddenly appeared with planks of wood. At first they thought it was a mugging but the guys appeared to be on something and were just looking for a fight. They knocked my ex and his friend out and beat them badly. The girl escaped and called the police. They caught them thankfully as they turned up very quickly and got them in the act but getting a call at 3am to say your boyfriend is in the hospital is something I never want to go through again.

(Even though we are now broken up because he is a wanker).

Short harsh sentences would be the solution for me.

One month solitary no social contact, TV or what ever. Bland vegan food and walls padded.

Hell a week would do.

Yes but I want them breaking rocks!

Solitary is important - they share their criminal ways otherwise.
