Quote: Matthew Stott @ June 26 2009, 5:06 PM BSTThey did fail, though, to find him guilty of anything. And lots of innocent people are taken to court. Again, I'm not saying he was innocent, I don't know obviously.
At the end of the day, he made some great music, I don't really care about all the scandal.
Yay! Pity Hitler didn't have any memorable dance numbers, then history would have viewed him differently as well.
It's great being super rich, you can pay off the victims of your crimes or get your lawyers to intimidate them.
Hope all you 'Jacko' supporters will be saying the same thing when Gary Glitter dies.
If your children ever get molested by a super rich pop star, I too will say 'Yawn' and 'I don't really care'.

Definitely.

He wasn't quite the same as Hitler though was he now?
If he did rape a child and his parents accepted money, then they're as descpicable as him.
He was never found guilty, it's as simple as that. And if he had been, it wouldn't have stopped me bopping my head along to Billie Jean.

Gary Glitter was found guilty, you overreacting psycho.
Hitler! F**k's sake.

Narrow it down more like. There has been so much.

Something else where you had to go Google. I really don't remember any detail!
I remember! I thought that Blue Peter presenter was the son of Tom Jones.
Ah I earned my sig that day!

Hitler! F**k's sake.
Hitler may have been a tad extreme comparison wise, but my argument still stands. Calling me an overeacting psycho for being disgusted by this outpouring of faux emotion for a dead paedo is your prerogative.
The mega rich get away scott free with their crimes. If one of Jacko's lawyers said to these (mainly poor) parents 'We'll take your kid to court, bankrupt you, make him relive the whole sordid episode again and then you might not even win - or you take this bag of money now'. Then these kids parents might have done the latter.
Even with these tactics, the sheriff's deparment and the courts just don't spend millions of dollars on high profile cases on a whim. Especially with a 20 year investigation behind them.
Gary Glitter couldn't afford the lawyers Jacko had, so he was found guilty. If MJ were still alive, would you let any of your children / neices / nephews sleep in the same bed as him?
As for this conspiracy theory that the 'powers that be' wanted him taken down, Jacko was best friends with the most powerful people in the music and film business.
The jokes are coming now. The sickest one I've heard involves an etcha sketch.

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaat was the one!

20 years? Perhaps you mean 2.

Yep.

I can't say I'd let my kids sleep with anyone!
And I've never heard that conspiracy theory.
I would just like it if people could keep an open mind. Most of the people on this thread who think he's probably innocent of that crime have made sure to say 'but I don't know for sure', whereas a lot of the people who think he's guilty won't even allow for the possibility they may be wrong!
It's a bit annoying, that's all.

Speaking of My Prerogative, shouldn't Bobby Brown be kicking the bucket soon?

Indeed. I have to say I'm not sure ether way.

It would be faux if it were yours, yes. As you believe him to be a paedo. But for those that don't it's not 'faux'!
Of course the news/media is overdoing it, as they always do. But we're allowed to be a bit sad about a musician we liked dying at age 50.
