Considering the amount of time writers spend praying I'm surprised there's no blossoming religions for screenwriters. Even successful writers are worried about ratings. Any suggestions about how this would work? The God of spellcheck, very popular in days of you're. I mean your. Yore.
We'd need a version of the Lord's Prayer too.
How about...
The Comedy Writer's Prayer
Our Father
Who art in telly land
Thompson be thine name
Thy corporation come
Thy will be done
On digital as well as terrestrial.
Give us this day our daily commission,
And forgive us our crappy jokes
As we forgive other writers that steal them.
And lead us not into writing gags for Christmas crackers
But deliver us from poverty,
For thine is the license fee,
The power of the story, for ever and ever
Amen.
