Krod Mandoon And The Flaming Sword Of Fire Page 6

This is sword and sorcery played for laughs – an off the peg fantasy plot with knowing asides and camp performances, rather than an attempt to use fantasy as a vehicle for satire, as Pratchett does in Discworld, or an attempt to find the potential for comedy in the complex ideas fantasy can explore, as Red Dwarf did for science fiction. It just seems pointless, and very, very lame.

Some great innuendo tonight. Really enjoying it, despite the slag.

I think it's awful. But am still watching it!

Are you a masochist?

You did that with Lab Rats as well.

I liked Lab Rats a bit more, I think.

How do you remember these things chip?

She's the only reason I'm still watching :$

(Actually, I'm watching it for Lucas and MacQueen... if only they could have been the sole focus of this show)

Pervert.

I actually, rather disturbingly, thought of Mark in the 'coming up next week clip' when she got covered in erm... an unidentified white liquid. :/

Was that your favourite bit, Mark? :)

That clip can actually be seen in the BCG's video section, so you actually find out what it is.

Is probably a gourd of Matt Lucas's spunk.

I watched a bit of this last night - awful is my verdict. Not funny, puerile, American drivel. With a big dollop of leaden Disney-esque moralising to round it off. Ugh..

If this sort of thing wants to work, it needs to be silly like Maid Marian And Her Merry Men, or Monty Python etc. This is too earnest, with cardboard characters who are just idiotic.
