My life feels in limbo at the moment... Page 5

How on Earth can you disagree with people I know?

I can't, of course. I thought you were talking about all Americans in general. I'll try to make it to one of the BSG meetups and then you can say that you know an American who doesn't want to move to the UK. ;)

There are a few English expats who frequent the pub I call home and I often have to change the subject or they'll just go on and on about how terrible things have become "back home." One of the guys often has an unusual bulge in his pocket. I think he's carrying a gun, but perhaps he's just happy to see me. :|

Well I did say "I don't know many Americans..."! But heyho.

Some things are terrible here, they're right. But other things I wouldn't trade for the world. And those, combined with things that are worse or just as bad elsewhere, far outweigh anything which could make me want to leave England.

Land of Hope and Glory starts in the background. Aaron salutes. The crowd goes wild. ticker tape falls from the ceiling, little children wave Union Jacks.

And then suddenly...Pirates attack! Pirate Pirate Pirate

Wow, you can really pitch!! I'd watch it.

Mind you the last two nights I've watched National Treasure and The Scorpion King, so I guess I'll watch pretty much anything. :$

Where's Ross Kemp???

Running away.

Where's Ross Kemp???

He's Aaron's body double.

That sounds more like an American style political rally to me!

What is so bad about living in Britain?

Would it be the temperate climate, that's not only interesting and good for agriculture?

The fact that it has no real risk of natural disaster - like earthquake, volcanos, tornados, bush fires, etc?

It has a free health service?

England has one the lowest homicide rates amongst developed countries?

It has one of the better records for free speech and human rights?

Some of the biggest corruption in politics involves getting people to pay for your moat being cleaned, rather than poll fixing?

It has a tolerant attitude to sex and pregnancy out of marriage?

I've read that England has more tornadoes per square mile than any place on the planet.

We have an appalingly high rate of violent crime.

We have an appalingly high rate of violent crime.

No one I know has ever been the victim of a violent crime.

Really can't be THAT high.

We're not in Iran.

I know about half a dozen.
You must live in a nice part of the world.
I live in da Ghetto (well Islington actually that's where Tony Blair lives and he like invaded several countries, killed in 100,000s of and had people tortured so he's a pretty violent criminal).

I actually live somewhere crappier than Islington but close enough to pretend.

VIOLENT CRIME PER 100,000 PERSONS

The sharp rise in the UK is due to changes to recording procedures, BTW.
