Has anybody got any experience of this?
I have 2/3 dodgy fingers nails that will not repair themselves. There is also no creams etc that will repair them. I want to get them removed. They look quite bad.
Is this something I can just request at my doctors and he will forward me to the hospital?
Is that 2 maybe 3 fingernails or two thirds of a finger nail?
Two are damaged beyond repair. The third is going the same way but not as bad, although I would be willing to have all three taken off.
How did you damage them? If they don't eventually grow back then it is not the nail that is damaged, it's your finger.
Perhaps you could stick new ones over the top?

Just take a holdiay to Diego Garcia and insult the US.
They'll remove finger nails toe nails and they may even stylishly slice your penis.

I used to bite them so bad when I was younger, they have never recovered. Two are completed wrecked, one is on its way. I just want all three to be gone.

Probably worth asking your doctor. I'd imagine it's a bit more complicated than just removing the current nail, they'd have to stop them growing back if that's what you want.
Sounds like it would be very painful to have done and the nails are there to protect the skin underneath so you might find a doctor wouldn't want to remove them for purely aesthetic reasons as the downside might be worse than just having manky looking fingernails.
Errr....shouldn't they...you know grow back on their own without a 'removal' service? I've damaged a fingernail and toenails pretty badly in the past when I worked for mining companies and the damage part has always eventually grown out.
Why not just go and ask? It's what they're there for (doctors, not fingernails). We can't say for certain as it's going to be down to just how f**ked up they are, andas other people have hinted, I suspect where the damage actually is.

I don't understand why you want them removed? Is it so they can grow back undamaged? They're painful? Or you don't like the look of them? What sort of 'damage' do they have?
I would have thought it would be better to have damaged nails rather than nothing at all.
