No, I can't say I thought of Pauline at all.

Me neither.

Oh, well. Just a thought. It was the first thing my mate said to me when I saw him after it was on.

Re: Evil Clowns

Personally speaking, I haven't seen that many sitcoms with evil clowns in them.

How come no one complains when we see the same family / work / flatshare sitcom characters repeated ad infinitum, but people freak out because they had an evil clown on the Simpsons 12 years ago?

Go Evil Clowns!

I've now changed my mind.
The clown was both original and brilliant.
What was I thinking.
* goes and makes cup of tea*

Don't burn yourself.
;)

I was actually thinking of throwing myself onto the burning gas ring after my hideous 'having opinion about clowns' blunder.

I would assume because we all have families, and yet very few have first-hand experience of psychotic clowns.

Apart from Natasha Kaplinsky.

Nobodies freaking out, merely pouinting out that the dysfunctional clown is something of a cliche. That's not to say it can't be funny, or somebody can't put an original spin on it, just that the notion of a clown/children's entertainer with sinister/angry/psychotic/perverted undertones has been done to death.

I think anyone who wants to be a clown as a career is a bit suspect. If I had my way, I'd have them locked up. Same with street magicians, human statues, mimes and interpretive dancers.
