I haven't. Keep looking on Amazon, but it's always hundreds of pounds! :(

Indeed. I guess there's always the e-book version on the Beebs DW site.

I suppose I could print it out, staple it together and try and pass it off as the real thing.

Links to e-book versions of Dying Days and Lungbarrow if it helps:

I always wanted to get "The Dying Days" but it's always about 40 or 50 quid.

Being terminally sad, I would quite like at some point to have all the Virgin New Adventures.I'm not entirely certain why, because I don't collect any other Who stuff, besides the DVD releases and the magazine, but none the less I would.

None of this matters though when the scripts have got burping wheely bins, farting Slitheen, and the Anne Droid. They can act their socks off and still you don't give a shit what's happening.

The change from RTD to Moffatt is much more significant than the change of actor.

And for my money, I preferred Tennant to Eccleston. Tennant was an all-time great Doctor.

Anne Droid was ace a really look back to the golden era when plot beat FX. For my money when Who does expensive fx it just looks silly as their generally so inferior to even the cheapest US show (or Primeval for that matter)

And burping wheelie bins? That was the pilot you curmudgeon.

Now come on now, I've seen Primeval and it's monsters are always ropey. Whos effects are far superior to that show. I know it isn't, but Primeval looks cheap, Who looks quite expensive by comparison. Or maybe they're just spending the money better. Or trying harder.

I suppose the annoying thing is Tennant is a fantastic actor, Taking over The Asylum that one about the bloke with the head injury.

But the scripts generally nose dived after season 1, the music got louder (check it out there's much less in season1) and the FX became far to central.

There were some goodones but they stick out amongst the poor ones.

Also the Slitheen were pretty good fun in season1 even if the effects were a bit rough.

They were/are rubbish, and much more suited to The Sarah Jane Adventures, a childrens show, which they now pop up in.

I think the good/bad/passable ratio has been pretty standard through each of the last four series. Each series has had three or four greats, a few goods, and a few stinkers.

That was a very funny story! And the sequel was quite moving.

Not when you look at tricky stuff, characters interacting with CGI characters, effects in a normal setting. I mean Primeval is pants and looks it, but when Dr Who tries to imitate bigger budgets it looks worse.

When it doesn't bother and amps the acting/writing it beats everything else hands down. The angels, season1 Daleks, the Unquiet dead, the evil dad in the cupboard, the Judoon all bloody ace and all cheap as Asda value chips.

The first story was terrible, and the second time they appeared was one of those 'good' episodes, rather than great. You're never going to be able to get past the fact, however, that they looked truely rubbish and they farted. Or at least I can't get past that. They are, however, perfectly suited to the world of Sarah Jane, I enjoy them on that show.

Anne Droid was just a bit of pop-culture-of-the-day fun, like having the Beatles in that one from the 60s (The Chase?) - and it fitted the story. From the trailers I was expecting Bad Wolf to be an abomination but I thought it worked rather well in the end.

*agrees*

Yeh it made a friend of mine cry.
And the end was some how convinvingly vicious and powerful.
Unlike the Voyage Home's
"oops I forgot to destroy the Daleks!"
moment.

Evil dad in the cupboard was ace! Peter Kay was rather awful.
