The funniest thing for me was PETRA complaining about him killing the fly. It's a f**king fly, for Christ's sake!
(Much as I like animals, I do find animal rights organisations a little creepy. They always seem populated by people who would weep, pray and go to jail for a dolphin, but would just sit impassive, stroking their cat, whilst watching reports on the human suffering in Palestine or the Sudan, for example.)
Yes, I know what you mean. Not too long ago, we had a situation where animal rights activists released all the chickens from an egg farm and they all ran in the road and got hit by 18 wheeler trucks. Oh, there were 2 dogs that were killed in the road from chasing the chickens. Yeah, release chickens from a farm next to a highway. Not a very cunning plan, in my humble opinion.

How awful was it, you ask?
I am not making this up. A bunch of the chickens ended up in the woods on the other side of the highway because of losing their heads and running around like a chicken...well you know the joke.
This news provided a couple weeks of entertainment.
No, running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Evidently, chickens can jump and be decapitated by large trucks when startled.

Definitely a bit misguided in this case...
I'm annoyed they pretty much banned testing cosmetics on rabbits and stopped beagles smoking.
Personally, I want to be confident that when I put make-up on my pet cat that she's not going to come to any harm. And when I buy cigarettes for my hamster how can I be sure he's "in flavour country"?
I agree. And someday, when I decide to do my masterpiece painting of dogs smoking cigars, how will I know which breed looks best?
And by the way, blue eyeshadow only looks good on white rabbits.
And mauve lippy on a white cat. Although I haven't done that since I was seven.
