God, that was awful. I truly hated that. Like the worst parts of League all rolled into one show. It tried so hard to be funny but failed so miserably, especially the terrible clown character. They've been working on this for so long and it's sad they ended up producing this rubbish.

I always find these LoG type productions oddly compelling, with the emphasis on oddly. An army of dwarves, demented clowns, incestuous relationships makes me think the writers need some serious therapy.
But is it funny? I've never thought so, even back in Royston Vasey. But the creators have a real talent for the eerie and darkly bizarre which makes their work watchable.

On the red button note, does everyone switch their TV off the moment the credits appear? The voiceover person announced quite clearly that episode 2 was available. Or at least on BBC Two England they did.
I thought that was brilliant; funny, compelling, great performances from the two League boys and Dawn French. I can't wait to see how it develops, because that was a great opening.

Dawn French does good scary.

Totally agree. I found the visuals really eye popping at times and the only bit that made me LOL was when the blind man said 'he loved that painting and that vase'.
I too had reservations about Mrs. Henry, but she was great as the mad mid-wife.
This is freaky deaky creepy fun.

I'm going to watch this again later and this time, I'm going to think more about the drama and less about the comedy. I should find this funny as I like LoG.
First thing I thought of this morning was 'f**k pig' written in shit. NOW it's making me laugh.
They try so f**king hard to be subversive, but I just don't buy it. Always though the LOG were a bunch of chancers and this does nothing to change that.
This, coupled with Mitchell and Webb, made for a depressing hour of comedy.
The only decent comedy on at the moment is The Inbetweeners. And that was the last one. Bastards.
Loved this 
Loved everything about it, characters, story setups and the overall look/feel of it was great.
And yes, it made my wife and I laugh out loud at times, not none stop but didn't mind that at all as it had that something else.
Although I had to be up at 3.15am for work I couldn't help but hit the red button and watch episode 2. Quality also

I'm getting pretty tired of this "done to death" phrase. It's almost always used incorrectly.
