The ventriloquist armed robber sketch was ace.
That Mitchell And Webb Look - Series 3 Page 6
As much as people do seem to hate the self-referential, smug, post-modern aspect of comedy, I absolutely adore the in-between sketches with Mitchell and Webb playing versions of themselves, such as reading a script of a their in-between sketches, the doctor's surgery with David's "real" doctor, the talking dolls, their "hit and miss" ratios, and the fact that David plays intelligent fops while Robert plays versions of himself and sexier characters.
Yes, they're obviously in-jokes and are "knowing" of their position as sketch writers, and people do see an air of smugness and unfunniness about it, but not me. I love it.

I have to admit I found Robert dressed as a woman tonight very sexy. ????
Tonight was the first time I've watched M and W.
Honestly, it is.
I'd kinda been holding out as Mitchell always seems to me like someone's dad who had bungled into a room of, say, drama students, embarrassing everyone by saying "Can I join in with your comedy?"
He is like the dad dance of comedy, i.e. say if he was an unknown and he'd come to do an audition with a younger friend, the judges would think the young person is the one auditioning and Mitchell is just a dad offering support.
BUT......
I actually did find it quite funny.
Looks like I've been missing out on Webb and his dad Mitchell.
And thank GOD it's one of those variety sketch shows as opposed to recurring character shows.
Only one thing...
Hands up who thought Webb tries to sound like David Walliams?
I am finding this series MUCH funnier than the previous ones.
And I liked them quite a lot already.

Huh?
He's been talking like that for many, many years Mikey, I can assure you. Never thought of Walliams when I hear him.
In one of the sketches.... can't remember which one.... when Webb does that gay sounding high voice ala Walliams
Oh, I know what I mean. lol
It's late. I mistakenly thought you were talking about Mitchell...
Will watch again and try and work out what you/I mean.

Can you mean such things?
Sorry. Not a popular opinion round here but I'll stick to my guns.

S'all right. I'm just a bit mad.
I am going to say that it was a weaker episode tonight, purely based on the fact that I found myself losing track and doing stuff on my computer rather than glued to the TV the whole way through.
(But it was still very good. And I also love the in-between, behind-the-scenes, self-referential sketches.)
WOO... I was just on her whining about the push back of Peep Show Series 6 and I had no idea there was a new series of this out. Will definitely tide me over for a while... A lot of people think their sketch shows are crap but I think most of it is brilliant. Exception: those sketches about naming parts of America. God old very quickly.
I enjoyed the Peter and Ted snooker commentator sketch. Playing an actual match and got presenter Hazel Irvine to do an introduction to make it look authentic.
No Numberwang or Sir Digby. At least they didn't bring back the Helivets. Wasn't too keen on them.
Oh, and I also liked the hit and miss sketch.
"And people call us smug!"
Good episode, I really liked the one with the womans beauty kit, and the men just shaving and drinking beer. Reminded me in feel of a Serafinowicz(?) style sketch.
Oh, and all the little movie bits, Posh Jaws, Polite Taxi Driver, were very nice.
I normally like them but found last night's rather dull.
