Whenever a friend succeeds... Page 5

His ex-girlfriend's adopted daughterrrrrr. Not his!
Poor old perv. I mean Woody.

I bet he helped pick her out.

No Mia not the fat black one, we've got 2 already.

Whenever a friend succeeds... I kill him.

I believe Woody Allen as punishment for being a perv is sentenced to 20 years of making rubbish films with other celebs.

Yup. Name a better writer/director with a better portfolio of comedy/drama films.

Start counting?

Ok then.

:)

Yeh but look at Mel Brooks. I mean he's got what 2 or 3 top notch movies and maybe a dozen stinkers. But nothings ever going to take away the original Producers.

Hey I love the little nebbish.

If he hadn't be so brilliant the drop in quality wouldn't stick out.
BBC 2 did a season of his films, maybe 15 years ago before the drop.
How many other film makes could have such a consistent season of clever, funny wonderful films?

Maybe that could be a new thread to add to our collection of bitter judgemental BCG arse-talking. Which film-maker has had the worst decline in quality after showing early genius? We could call it The Boat That Rocked.

The films that shocked?

Ok this is to easy Guy Ritchie and that guy who did Donnie Darko.

Are we allowed to subtract a point for every shit film he's made? Because great as his early work is, that'd put him well into negative equity.

No. Because that would just be silly.

I usually feel happy for the person. Then, I compare my success, (or lack of), to him/her and get angry with myself. Full of hate would be apt. Sometimes morbid depression follows.

Right now I'm in a holding pattern. Slipping.

Emo.

I'm actually a very optimistic person. But when I'm not, I'm really not.

No! When I'm happy I'm just so up. Everything's Mr.Blue Sky. But when I crash, it's awful. Terrifying to me, when I look back on it.

Bipolar-like? (But hopefully not too bipolar-like - that's no fun at all.)
