Baby Cow 3: Mini update Page 3

I agree slightly with wanting others to fail, but only if they are sworn enemies. I have no ill feelings for Sam, I don't know the guy personally or dislike him, so good luck to him I say.

I work for a leading charity and do voluntary work on top of that. So I probably make an infinitely more impressive contribution to society than you will ever hope to. Oh, and I've also had my work broadcast on BBC7, Radio 4 and Radio 1, so I'm probably a more succesful writer than you (and better able to understand human psychology if you're bland and insipid comments are anything to go by).

Check out the ego on this one! Struck a nerve or what?

Clearly, chipOnShoulder knows what contributions i make to the world and what I have studied as well as what writing credits I have, so I have no right to have an opinion but like I said SOME people might want others to fail but others don't. Do you disagree with that? Or are you saying we all made the same?

I don't want people here to fail as I see this as a forum of like-minded people and I'm inspired by success. I'm sorry if this is different to other people, but I know plenty of people who are the same and plenty more that aren't.

If I don't like someone, its different, but i don't know any of you, even though some people, clearly, think they know me.

Agreed. I think this should be discussed elsewhere as this is supposed to be a thread about Sam's progress.

To Seefacts - I would suggest the whole point of a forum like this is to exchange ideas and news with likeminded would-be writers; that means sharing someone's joy and excitement and encouraging them when production companies like their work. After all, their success could be the result of tips or advice given somewhere on this site.

If you've been so successful at having material accepted for broadcast, why not actually share some advice with the rest of us rather than quietly logging on here everyday and ripping off people's ideas in your writing which is what I suspect you do.

This is my first ever post, and I didn't want it to be a 'rant' but to me you've missed the whole point of this forum - you'd be better off logging on here... www.schadenfreudegits.de

Sam, you are a troublemaker.

This forum has been dedicated to people quietly getting along thinking they're never going to amount to anything.

Please take your hope elsewhere. :P

Come on guys, this seems to have got a bit silly. I think Seefacts original comment has been blown out of proportion slightly. I think it's great that people are keeping us a breast of how they're doing, and it's only natural to be curious and ask questions... but unless they know someone it probably does boil down to writing something decent.

I think everyone has something in them, whether they admit it or not, that wants other people to fail. The majority of people know these are feelings of jealousy or whatever and rise above them. it doesn't make you a bad person, and it doesn't make you a monster. It means your a human being who has feelings and wants to achieve.

Good luck Sam.

You twat.

Sorry, good luck

getting this far will make the rejection worse.

Seriously though mate good luck

etc etc

Look, I don't want to start any feuds with anyone and I didn't mean to upset anyone. I am a peaceful person and I can understand what its like to feel negative when others succeed etc. I have all those inner battles in everyday life.

Its just I came to this forum to get tips, advice, and inspiration in writing sitcoms. I actually have had quite a bit of success in comedy writing already, this is something new though and I know I'm more likely to get the right advice, case studies etc from people that succeed than those that don't.

So I am honestly pleased when I read about success as it furthers my belief that there are successful writers here to talk to, getting the breaks that I hope to one day get too.

Chipolata....

ContainsNuts...

Come on, give it each other a big virtual kiss

What a beautiful image. Come on, everyone knew it was going to happen!

No tongues.

The saucy devils!

Frankie Rage kind of hit the nail on the head when he said he doesn't feel particularly excited when someone else gets a sketch accepted or great news (nor does he feel anger towards them), but instead thinks - what do I need to do to be as successful?

I bet Sam's laughing his ass off at this thread.

He's probably making notes for his new sitcom idea for Babycow.

It'll be a smash.

I just can't believe its not butter

if i put, "I can't believe it's not bitter" would that start the argument up again?

Taking pleasure in the fact the you have got a good job and someone else is working on a check-out says awful things about you.

Didn't you want to hang someone on a previous thread?

What does that say about you?
