Well, this might damn me here, but the last TV show I remember crying to, was when I watched the last episode of Battlestar a week or two back. Teary

I haven't seen it yet so don't ruin it, but was it a sad end, or were you just sad that a great show was coming to a close?

Well, part of the end was very sad, for two of the main characters who I won't mention.

I suppose the last episode of The Office prodded a tear from my eye. No matter how much it went against the grain of the previous two series, it was still nice to see such a positive ending to the show. A great to see Dawn and Tim get together.

I don't know if it counts but animations of Oscar Wilde's children's stories; The Selfish Giant and The Happy Prince.

Was there also a cartoon of The Nightingale and the Rose?

I seem to have had an inability to cry since adolescence, or at least I did until I saw Wall-E. It got terribly dusty in that cinema!

Yes...it must have been very pollinated in my theater during the opening scene of Star Trek.

I think there was. The Steadfast Tin Soldier is another one that makes me cry and The Little Match Girl by Hans Christian Anderson?

Interestingly, I can't think of a single TV show that has moved me to tears. Which probably says something quite damning about the medium.

Royle Family - Queen Of Sheba for me.

Royle Family - Queen Of Sheba for me.

That was quite moving, I'll give you that.

I cried too... my boyfriend thought it was hilarious I was crying.

Yeah was a sad one Teary

There's a terribly sad ending to a Futurama episode - the one where Fry is trying to bring his dog back from the dead.

There's an episode on Venture Bros season 3 called "The Invisible Hand of Destiny" with a very melancholy ending too.

And, slighty off topic, but did anyone see Grave of the Fireflies? Good Christ that's a choker.

I guess I'm just a sucker for sad animation.

Yes it moved me. To my specially designated area for being violently sick, a symptom caused by extreme sentimentality.

Interesting to compare the pathos of Hans Andersen's fairy tales and Oscar Wilde's fairy tales. Seems Wilde was having a dig at Andersen's upbeat view of misery in The Devoted Friend, where the doomed protagonist was named Hans.

But yes, the demise of The Little Match Girl was lamentably pathetic.
