Terry and June, Bread, Butterflies, Duty Free, Man About the House, anything by Carla Lane except her obituary after her f**king rescue animals eat her alive.

Cool

After You've Gone, Red Dwarf (mainly Dave eps this yr), Ideal (as mentioned previously), Coming of Age and Teenage Kicks.

Laughing out loud

Is this thread about shows that were shit to start with and had inexplicably long runs, or ones that started okay, but ran on for far too long and became shit?

Struggling to think of examples of the first - even Bread had a decent first series; Are You Being Served? perhaps, though it did not run all that long, and it certainly has it's ardent supporters;

In the later category, the list could be a long one, but Last of the Summer Wine, Married With Children, and, sadly, The Simpsons, are classic examples.

Is this for, or against? If it's the latter... :O again!

I enjoy Ideal.

Then...

Back at cha! :D

Last of the Summer Wine is still better than most others. Series 30 has been a bit shit though. Still 29 good series ain't bad!

Last of the Summer Wine, Two Pints, 2.4 Children, Birds of a Feather.

Surprised that they made more than one episode of Krod Mandoon.

Bread? Why are people slagging off Bread? It was a wonderful show.

I haven't seen it since I was nine mind.

Bread started off ok but then it lost its way and it started to get confusing. Last Of The Summer Wine, oh boy that will continue as long as there are actors and actresses over the age of 70 to continue it. The Simpsons it seems to me are now getting reliant on the odd star appearance but they all look and sound the same now. Same jokes, same stories - it's almost predictable.

But not if it's getting axed!

remember seeing show called Side By Side I didnt rate, surpriesd as it was written by Three Up Two Down writer and I liked that

I put Two Pints, Grownups and Coming Of Age in the same pot.

apart from fact Sheridan Smith isnt in Coming Of Age

Life of Riley - have I mentioned that before?

It does strike me that possibly this show was commissioned solely on the basis of its title. (Pitched by Alan Partidge in a moment of desperation.)
