Thank you one and all.
Rates for writers Page 2
If we're using rates in the sense of tarifs...
1 year conditional discharge for writers of My Family
2-5 years for Two Pints...
5-10 for Life Of Riley - plus having to sign life-long onto the comedy offenders' register if complicit in coming up with the title
Sketch-writing for Tittybangbang or Little Miss Joceyln - 15-20 years mandatory based on the "3 strikes and you're out" prinicple.
If it's paid work I'll take it. I sold my soul for a bag of chips. Then forgot I needed vinegar.

The link goes to radio drama, not comedy.

Does commissioning another series of Hale & Pace still carry the death penalty?
Or have Europe stepped on that law as well?
It's political correctness gone mad.
Any writer touching Karen Taylor has to wear a tag and abide to a curfew.

I touched her boob when she brushed past me in a nightclub. Does that count.

Apparentley you're not even allowed to touch her with a barge-pole.
Talk about strict.
Interesting stuff in here, thanks for the links.
Quote: Lee Henman @ June 11 2009, 4:05 PM BSTWell it's generally not less than a hundred quid a minute. I got paid 80 quid a minute on Hale and Pace and that was like 13 years ago or something.
It varies though. And rates do change, so don't quote me.
What you gonna do now eh?

Previous mentions of the cast of My Family not wanting to do it any more, and of the writers definitely being in it for the money, plus certain cast members of 2 Pints being on record as saying they don't like the show...all adds up to a pretty sad state of affairs; shows written and performed by people that don't like it, and then we see it and hate it too. Those that demand these sort of shows certainly cause a lot of misery for the rest of us.
It all reminds me of the arguments against prostitution. The pros suffer for the gratification of the uncaring.

The cheek!
Tells you everything you need to know about actors though. Many are unprincipled egotistical pricks, who generally couldn't find they own arse in front of camera without a stage direction. And when they do open their mouths and try and use their own brains to make sentences, they talk the most unbelievable amount of old bollocks going. Mostly about politics (about which they know nothing) or animals. Animals?

That'll be actors sorted out then.
Apparently, the bastards know what to say because the words are written down for them in a script!
What would we do without actors, eh?
Or conversely, what would they do without us?
That's true, that's very shrewd.
