How do you make an Icelandic Whooper Swan sing?
Put it in the oven until its bill withers.
*polite 1930s radio audience round of applause*
[BBC ANOUNCER:] "...and now here's Mr Sidney Palmèire and his Jazz Peculiars with The Girl With The Prophylactic In Her Hair..."

If physical play is any indicator of sport than in comparison, hockey makes Soccer look like a game of boccie.
Sorry, hockey is for schoolgirls in this country. My mistake.

But so does Cricket.

I suppose I should I just take this as an indicator that the English take even the manliest of sports and make it weak enough for 'schoolgirls in the country' to play.

Nil, cheer up. You're looking a bit Bleu.
Let's just look at the facts, Curt...
Hockey is for girls.
Ice skating is for girls or homosexuals.
So ice hockey... well, I think I've proved my point.
Cricket is what we do now instead of ruling an Empire.

Except didn't we actually rule? not keep losing to every one that could lift a bat.
We suck.

I never said we ruled cricket. It just keeps the chaps pleasantly occupied in the absence of the Empire. If the rest of the world want us to fight and win colonial wars instead of losing to part-timers in 20-20 cricket, then they only have to say.
