Not many women around. Page 3

I'll tow you with my car.

Oh good. I'll just get my grandson's skateboard and a tow bar.

It's not much to do with the lack of women but it might prove interesting.

I think it's more important to be a comic who just happens to be female that a female comic. In an ideal world, there shouldn't be that divide. *snip*

Nothing is sadder that a woman who has to rely constantly on stereotypical sexual roles to be funny. Just be you! Gender is at the bottom of the list, having fun and doing what you love is the first.

Umm, yeah. Ever heard of the phrase "over-analyse"? :)

I'm God.

Identity theft!

If you have to be careful not to let something become "an issue" then it is one...

What do I mean by that?

Feckin' nothing, see.

I know what you mean Frankie - and it's true.

But going back to the original point - so, is it the geeky nature of the site that puts off women? (I really want to say it's the picture of Leevil's cock, but that joke's been done to death already...)

On a serious note... (C# is quite serious)

I only have experience of one other comedy site it's called ******* (CENSORED BY BSG MODERATORS) and there are very few women regularly posting on there... about four or five all year the site has been running... they are much *priZed* and mostly we keep them hidden in our caves lest some other site should steal them away...

Are there just fewer women than men interested in writing/performing comedy... maybe that's it?

I really hope you don't mind me saying but that was a little bit unfair. I was only joining in a discussion after all. I wouldn't like to think I was actually upsetting anyone here so if that's the case, I apologise and we shall move swiftly on! Hugs to all.

Ooooh, BTW, I don't think this place is full of geeks. I think there is a nice mix here! A lot of people with some great talent. Nothing geeky about enjoying what you do and making people laugh and be happy, even for a minute. It makes a difference.

I'm still having trouble working out who is female. I not sure it does any favours when having your comedy judged. I didn't think about it until I discovered that quite a few people on the internet thought I was a bloke. Some attitudes changed when they discovered otherwise.

Men who judge women differently to men are idiots. You shouldn't try to seek their approval. In my opinion women are much funnier than men and the greatest comics are female e.g. Sarah Silverman (shes the reason I got into comedy).

As for the comedy geek thing, i've never been that much of a geek despite my IQ (bet you can't guess it, its high ladies) but as you get older you realise that geeks had it right all along. They do what they like and their friends all share common interests instead of spending loads of money on taxi rides for nothing chasing the opposite or same sex :(

I've been the sexiest for quite a while now :)

It's all the lard you smear all over yourself for that buff greasy chip look.

Philip Oliver swears by it. :P
