The BBC have just released the offical photo of the graduating ceremony.

They also released this one of all the people who really thought they might have a chance of getting a place this year. That's me top left.

:)

I was wondering why the first two questions on the Academy application form were:

Are you blue? and Do you where a white hat?

If I'd have known those two questions were so important, I wouldn't have wasted my f**king time filling in the rest of the application...

Micheal Jacob's a natty dresser, isn't he. Look at those red shoes.

:D

(Although that guy's not nearly wide enough to be Michael Jacob. MJ's like a two-legged tortoise when you see him). :)

What happens now? Do they get sent to look for shiny things down the My Family Mines? Hacking away with their little golden axes for the precious semi-witty rejoinders?

Or do they get culled and sold off to BBC Three, where their little blue comedy hides are used to carpet the production office of Mind, Body And Kick-Ass Moves?

That last line actually sounded like something Ben Harper would say.

Tim, you're a natural My Family writer!

Is their such a thing as a "natural" My Family writer? I heard their writers were genetically selected as embryos, then intensely battery-farmed in a couple of small barns in Shepton Mallet.

I know the writer of the My Family pilot episode and she very much did it for the money.

Personally, I won't have my bins emptied by anyone I feel doesn't have a passion for the job. (Reminds me, I must get down the tip, things are beginning to grow.)

My Fam's not really my cup of tea (it's not a bad sitcom, just not really my thing) but if they offered me work on it I'd snap their bloody hands off. The experience of team writing, (which I've never really done before) and writing for Robert Lindsay would be something I'd never pass up.
Plus there is the small fact that MF is an enormously-successful sitcom and just getting asked to contribute to it is proof you're respected enough within the industry to be trusted with it.

Much like Holby Blue was a spin off from Holby City. My Blue Family is scheduled to be a spin off from My Family. It's going to have much larger cast by the looks of it.

I saw a film called My Blue Family once. Scandinavian I believe. They were VERY close.

I've hardly seen any of it because it's not my thing, either, but the snatches I *have* seen, do not support the "it's not a bad sitcom" hypothesis. In one bit I saw, there was a man about to jump off building, Lindsay goes up to talk him out of it, taking a pizza with him. Why take a pizza with him? It wasn't explained. It turns out it was just to set up the punchline of the man slipping on the pizza to fall off the roof. To my mind, that bit failed to 'work'.

Perhaps the rest of it is marvellous, who knows.
