Marc, I think his ethos lies in the fact that he's nurturing talent now with a view to either making programmes and/or pitching ideas/writers to other prod cos and TV networks as a co-producer.

I'm much further down the comedy food chain than loads of people on here, but Jan gave me honest and useful feedback on the sitcom I sent him. He was spot on as well. It's rare for anyone to accept unsolicited stuff from no-name writers, even rarer for them to read it all the way through and give you feedback. Can't say fairer than that.
Yeah, he gave me a lot of feedback. It was frank, so have to give him credit for that and also pointed out why stuff didn't work rather than just saying 'No thanks' like others tend to do.
Dan
I'd echo what everyone else is saying.
Jan came back to me quite quickly re my 15 min script, despite having a mountain of them to get through. He gave useful feedback and said he'd read the full pilot when it's ready.
As Badge said, for those of us at the bottom of the ladder it's encouraging and useful (and probably rare) to have that kind of interaction with someone who know's his stuff and may be able to take it forward.

Fair enough, that seems a bit clearer. Is he taking an option then on these projects he's developing as a co-producer?

This is but one example of the quality of humour you get with Screenplay writers.
Is it a load of follicles then?

We've hit the mother-lode!
(In the original Two Ronnies equation - "follicles" = "articles" = "testicles" = "bollocks". Therefore, "follicles" = "bollocks", QED.)
