I've been thinking of buying the box-set of this show, and was wondering, is it really as good as people make out? Also, how many series' were made?
Mr Show
Not sure how many series. But the show itself is excellent. So many great high quality sketches and performances by David Cross and the other guy Bob whathisface.
Check out some sketches on YouTube, my favourites being; The Audition and The Pre-recorded Phone-In.
Four series. It's worth every penny. That said, series one and two have their share of duds but they're outweighed by some of the best sketches ever featured on TV.
I would be now watching the third series of this, if my stupid televisions built in DVD player was able to play American discs!!

Oh man, that's when it gets really good!
Doesn't Odenkirk Produce Tim and Eric? Also, he's heavily involved with The Simpsons, isn't he?

I believe he has a hand in Tim and Eric but it's Bill Odenkirk involved in The Simpsons and Futurama.
I'm actually watching these at the moment. It's a great show with some very funny sketches, although it's got it's fair share of misses as well. But when it hits, then it works brilliantly. So I'd recommend buying the boxsets.

I have the same problem with my season 1&2 DVD which I got on the strength of recommendation here. This thread has reminded me to watch it using another DVD (laptop I'm afraid, but it works).
I forgot to mention, my favourite sketch is the one about Mount Everest, where he keeps falling into his mum's thimble collection, and then they make a film about it-
The Audition sketch does it for me ... really an amazing show.
And yes Seasons 3 and 4 really take off.
The Sarah Silverman show is pretty much a cast reunion at times.

It's fantastic. I've just lent the boxset to a friend who's watching it for the first time. It's taking him a little while to get into it, but when you're in, it's excellent. You really should buy it.
Also, sorry to keep saying about this, but David Cross is in our latest sketch at http://tinyurl.com/thebigm
