Game Show Blunders.
He seems like intelligent for an American.
No, lack of sleep obviously effected his choice. He realised straight away he'd said the wrong letter.
There are some brilliant Weakest Link ones. Can't find them at the moment.
I'm trying to think that the title I gave this thread is too harsh on the guy, but I just can't.

I'm an idiot. This will end badly. But at least I'll get a free concert out of the deal.

Years ago there was a Saturday Night Live skit spoofing Who Wants to be a Millionaire, where the contestant (played by Will Ferrell, I think) got the first question correct and opted to take the $100 and quit. Funnier than it sounds.
The following screenshot is also a fake:

My favourite quiz show moments were;
The woman on Going for Gold who was in the solo round and as she answered the questions her headband (yep, she was an adult with a headband) was gradually slipping down her forhead until it was just above her eyes, but she just wouldn't push it up until Henry Kelly suggested it might be a good idea.
The girl on University Challenge who give a squeal and sort of shook like she was startled everytime she answered a question.
