My daughter's boyfriend just called to ask my permission to marry her.

:O

My feelings exactly.

Are they abroad? The phone seems a mite impersonal or are you a scary potential father-in-law?

Not abroad, but I'm halfway across the country and 1500 miles away. He offered to do it in person, but why waste the money?

I should probably buy a shotgun tomorrow.

Indeed. Is the adage true that women marry men like their fathers?

Aww, that's lovely. Do you like him? What did you say??

We've seen the pictures of DaButt in both hirsuite and clean shaven form and he is a scary looking guy, I'd be afraid to ask him to pass the salt. ;)

I take it you've met your future son-in-law, what do you think of him? Are you groovy with giving your daughter away at the wedding? Does he earn enough money so they can look after you when you go all senile in later life?

That's the crucial thing: make sure your kids marry into money. With a little bit of luck they'll end up supporting you.

Is he too far away to turn up in person? At least he didn't text. ;)

Aww, congrats to them both.

I hope you told him he's not good enough for her. It's traditional :)

Bless Congrads to Dabutt's gal and fiancee.

How old is she?
How did he ask? Was he all nervous?

Awwww that's sooooooooo cool! :)

Did you say yes?

Ooh, also, does that mean that you knew he was going to ask before she did?...
