Short movies

Hello peoples of the internet, I would like to know your ideas about short comedic movies. If this is of interest to you then please share your ideas.

Hello one of the Tracys of the internet. I am against short comedic movies. My idea would be to put all short comedic movies into a rocket and fire them at the sun. Boom! Just like that, they're gone. Or maybe put half of the short comedic movies in a box and load them into a large drilling machine and send them whirring and clanking into the Earth's core, just to be safe.

Well I like short comedic movies. Especially if they have short comedic actors in them and are about short comedic characters in short comedic situations.

You can't call them short comedic characters any more.

It's vertically challenged comedic persons now. :P

Seriously though, what short movies do you speak of? You Tube stuff?

Yes, a very peculiar question. If a 'short comedic movie' includes something like The Plank, with good writing and a good cast, I'm all for it. If it's a 10-minute affair posted on YouTube with shoddy camerawork and lines delivered in a manner that Pinocchio would recognise, they can piss off.

But are you asking about the challenges of writing them? Ideas for them? Discussion of the 'art'?

:D that pinocchio line is very funny.

Yes this is exactly what I am talking about. The difficulty I am having is thinking of an idea that has substance and is able to fit into the short movie category.

I would like to submit some movies to some film festivals.

Wave Hello one of the James Harris's of the internet.

That is slightly unfair my friend as I have visited your website and you also make short films.

This is a question to the mods.
Why is their no Northern Ireland flag in the emoticons? Do you really want to make the Irish angry.

Well I don't think anyone else can tell you what to write and/or direct. Is there a story you'd like to tell? If you can't think of anything maybe pursue a different branch of writing/film making?

I shall post my idea on monday morning Aus time.

Don't get upset, Tracy. What James Harris actually means is that he would like to to give the rocket/drilling machine treatment to all short comedic movies that are better than his.

No! Not just the ones that are better than mine. The other two or three must be destroyed as well. It's for the good of everybody.

No one wants to make the Irish unhappy but pretending they don't exist is a good baseline to start from. It's worked on the Welsh for years.
Whistling nnocently :)
