Worst Sitcom Endings? Page 3

much as I enjoyed the final episode of Arrested Development there was something about Lindsay coming on to Michael that seemed to deviate too far from the tone of the show for my liking. I know incest was a running theme but there was something... just off about it for me.

I didn't like the ending of Rising Damp very much. It's one of my favourite shows but I thought that Rigsby should be with Miss Jones in the end. It would have been nice. The last series wasn't helped by Richard Beckinsale leaving before it started either.

No, Beckinsale died in 1979. The last Rising Damp series was made in 1978. He just decided he wanted to move on and do something new according to Eric Chappell.

I found lots of comedy in it. Off the top of my head; nana's magnifying glass, Denise's extensions, Cheryl emptying the colestomy bag in the sink, Cheryl's dates, Cheryl with Hula Hoops on her fingers at the funeral.

Probably because Aherne's career never really went anywhere after The Royle Family, what with the suicide attempt and Dossa and Joe.

And the lack of any other discernable talent can't have helped.
