How about giving each sketch a score out of 10. We could have a pre-set list of 0-10 or 1-10 (e.g. 0=bad,1=very poor,2=poor,etc to 10=excellent), which every one could adhere to. Each sketch would then get a total score, which could be averaged. Then sketch writers could see if they were improving or not.
Give sketches a score

I like this idea! I second the motion!
I third that motion! I want those consistant 3.4 out of 10s.
I'd give that 10pts
Kind of think words are more helpful than numbers.

I'm sure my MP said that this morning.

Yes, that's quite right, but I thought it would give writers a guide to how their sketches were doing generally.
By the way, have I found the right place for this thread? I guess it can be moved if the mods are not happy.
Have to be words as well as points, IMHO
Oh yes, I wasn't intending to replace the critique, that's very important.
Anyone else like the idea?
I think a poll voting system is being introduced. I remember it coming up when I did the Sketch Competitions.
So this could be another use for it. Although measures would have to be in place, to stop abusers (child and forum trolls).

Just to clarify...1 being the lowest score and 10 being the highest?
Just wasn't sure???

That sounds good.

Yes, that's right. I gave explanations for a couple of them to show I thought we'd need to have concrete definitions, because someone's 5/10 might be someone else's 3/10 etc. Whatever!
