Peep Show - Series 6 Page 2

Yes, because Peep Show would work so well as an early evening show. Possibly as competition to Neighbours on Five?

Get real. Comedy departments don't run channels. And if the people who do run channels don't think they'll perform, or will do worse than a cheap to make reality show, they won't bother pushing them. It's the cold, hard reality of modern television.

Therefore that's a good thing? Peep Show would work quite happily in a 9pm slot. Considering the general decline in the quality of C4's output over the years, the "cold, hard reality of modern television" apparently dictates that the few gold-standard shows you make should be badly promoted and not lauded even on your own channel.

I will sound like some grumpy Daily Mail-reading retired colonel, but in all areas of modern British life (politics, journalism, management, the arts)there is no real ambition to be first rate. Achieving mediocrity is considered a triumph - and most fall short of that.

Anyway, whenever Peep Show airs, I'm really looking forward to it...

Comedy departments don't run channels any more than they commission shows.

No it wouldn't. And the 10 PM or 10:30 PM slot it did go out at is still a pretty decent slot. In fact it's the perfect slot for me since I usually get home from work about nineish so it's perfect for me and other grownups.

You'll get no argument from me on that front. Although your championing of shows like Free Agents does indicate that your Mediocre Detector needs retuning. Unimpressed

Don't your networks promo the hell out of season premieres like they do here in the states? If anyone could give me a date it'd be much appreciated.

No thank god!

Can't wait for this season. Who's baby is it gonna be? Place your bets now!

It'll come out black and she'll remember doing the do with Johnson whilst drunk. Maybe. That would be a pretty good little twist.

*senses a great amount of script re-writing after this post*

That would be a bit of a cop-out, I reckon. One of them having a kid would develop the characters a bit more.

It'll end up being Jez's and Mark looking after it. That would be the best for conflict, tension and, as such, comedy.

Dan

I'd also like to see the guys go to Spain on holiday. ;)

It would develop the characters further it's just hard to imagine Peep Show with a baby involved.

Jeremy's not exactly mature!

The unexpected is when Peep Show is at its best!

I want to grow up with these guys. I have so far (over the last six or seven years) and it would be nice seeing Mark and Jeremy embrace fatherhood. As long as it didn't end up like My Two Dads.

As opposed to the vast numbers of underage girls who pop out babies regularly. Or the hordes of ill-educated unwashed chav parents who appear on Jeremy Kyle... I think a baby might be the kick up the arse the show needs after the lacklustre fifth series.

Agreed, this slot is always the best for channel 4 comedy.

Laughing out loud Don't think they've got to the Are You Being Served? crisis just yet.

Now it's not airing until Autumn?? Unacceptable! Why do TV shows do this? Just once they're established enough to have a large fan base anxiously awaiting the new season, they completely switch up their pattern and leave a giant gap between seasons. They've been airing in may for the past 2 seasons now it's getting pushed way back to autumn? Not happy!
