Peep Show - Series 6

I'm from the US and I think Peep Show is hands down the best sitcom ever created. I can't find any info on when it's airing again the in UK, I know it's coming soon but I haven't found a date.

Don't your networks promo the hell out of season premieres like they do here in the states? If anyone could give me a date it'd be much appreciated.

No.

Well Wikipedia does say Summer 2009. So hopefully then. Also, is it true they have commissioned a 7th series for 2010?

Thanks

It's summer '09 right now, a solid date would be nice...

It's Spring.

Keep checking the page I linked to above.

They sort of mumble it a few days before its out.

"COUGH Peep Show series 6 Cough, anyway BIG BROTHER BIG BROTHER BIG BROTHER"

Just looking at Robert Webb's twitter page (twitter.com/realrobertwebb) and on April 20th he posted a reply to someone saying " @ all who asked: Peep Show returns in the Autumn. Sam & Jesse are close to finishing the scripts. I hope. Close-ish."

That supports what he said on Radio 1 back in March about them filming in July (see the other 'Peep Show' thread).

But still doesn't explain why there's been a long standing belief that it was coming back around now (and why the DVD is supposedly due out in September!)

Hi Jim.

It's nice to see that this one goes down well across the pond, as I think it's very English sorry British.

Glad they're making another series anyway.
Have you seen their sketch show ?

I have seen their sketch show, I almost made it through 2 seasons. It's good but a lot of the comedy doesn't translate well here.

No, our networks usually like to bury their best comedy towards the end of the evening, with as little fanfare as possible. Often they will have tried as hard as possible not to have commissioned it in the first place. If it does become a critical or financial success however, they will harp on about how brilliantly committed to new and original comedy they are (for about the next ten years until another great show slips through the net).

Ha, annoyingly true in most cases.

Write that as a sketch, Tim.

Yes, because Peep Show would work so well as an early evening show. Possibly as competition to Neighbours on Five?

Get real. Comedy departments don't run channels. And if the people who do run channels don't think they'll perform, or will do worse than a cheap to make reality show, they won't bother pushing them. It's the cold, hard reality of modern television.
