I am a big stupid gayer. Please place your engorged penis in my bum hole.

No, I won't. Well. Maybe after a drink or two.

The Who were alot better than The Beatles! Fact!

You are insane! Insane I say!

Laughing out loud

Insane or Right?

Insane or Right?

I've checked with your doctor and he agrees with me.

I've never understood the term "overrated". If you like something, you like it. If lots of people like something, it's well liked. If you don't like something, then don't rate it.

They're popular for a reason.

U2 are over rated. Fact! Because they ripped off Echo and the Bunnymen.

My vote on ELTP...YHI is Family Guy. Though hate is a bit strong, I really don't get the appeal. I'm not saying there aren't clips from it that I've really enjoyed, but I can't even watch a complete episode. To me, it's a reminder of when Viz comic became huge and spawned lots of copycat comics that looked and sounded quite like Viz - things like Zit, for example. On closer inspection, the copyists just had a lot of crude ideas that weren't followed through or couldn't be sustained, unlike Viz which had a love of its roots in The Beano etc and a subtle comic sensibility running right through it. Same with Family Guy v The Simpsons. No contest.

I watched two episodes of Fawlty Towers last night and umm...I'm really coming to the conclusion that it was largely-awful.

You realise Lee that this gives you a lot in common with that other comedy icon, Rory McGrath?

Ripping off Echo and the Bunnymen is overrated.

Family Guy is generally inferior to The Simpsons. But the Stewie and Brian partnership is a remarkably nuanced and subtle bit of comedy writing.

nuanced and subtle .

You're still talking about Family Guy, right? Errr

Stewie and Brian yes.
Check out the way they flip between being a dog and a baby and an urbane couple; Stewie's ambiguos sexuality, Brian's novel, Brian's relationship with Gillian all lovely underplayed comedy.

Quote: sootyj @ May 29 2009, 9:10 AM BST

all lovely underplayed comedy.

If you say so!

That I do, seriously the rest of the show is dross and Peter is a lobotomised version of Homer.
But Brian and Stewie are ace, I#m considering posting an ass load of YouTube clips of them.

But Brian and Stewie are ace,

I'm not denying they're a funny double act, just I would never use the word subtle to describe anything in Family Guy! :D

I'm sure there's more subtle stuff in Family Guy, but the in-your-face stuff tends to dominate.

(Rather like more subtle BSGer's tend to be drowned out by more in-your-face BSGer's.)
