It's mentioned in this weeks Radio 7 newsletter:

"and finally
I have some good news for those of you who enjoy topical comedy. We have
commissioned a new sketch show which will be taking a fun look - and a few swipes -
at the latest news, views and issues of the day. It's a six-part series, and the
title is Newsjack.

The host will be Miles Jupp, who will be joined by an excellent line-up of voices
provided by Jess Robinson (Dead Ringers, Headcases) Andi Osho (The Andi O-Show,
Tonightly) and Lewis McLeod (Bremner, Bird and Fortune, The Secret World).

The producer is Tilusha Ghelani.

In the tradition of the long running Radio 4 comedy series, Weekending, we are
encouraging new writers to submit sketches for Newsjack.

For any budding writers out there, we will be adding further information on our
website at a later date.

The pilot episode of Newsjack will be broadcast on Thursday 4th June, and if you'd
like to come along to any of the recordings (the show is recorded on Wednesday
evenings at the Radio Theatre, Broadcasting House, London) you can also apply for
tickets via the BBC tickets website: http://shows.external.bbc.co.uk/help/shows/newsjack

Quick Question. I take it Gareth Edwards is not producing this anymore and does Sanjeev Kohli still have anything to do with it?

If you're on their writers list, they will be sending out a brief. If not then I suppose just listen to the first episode.

And not too 'on the nose', knowing the lame bastards.

Judging by the fact they've pulled in impressionists from Headcases, Deadringers and Bremner Bird And Fortune, they will be heavily relying on parodies of public figures which is good news for the Treason Show/NewsRevue people among us.

I guess a listen to the pilot will tell us all we really need to know.

Oh, and it's on at 11pm on BBC7 so near-to-the-knuckle stuff might be right up their street.
BBC7 is much more risque that cosy old Radio 4.

I have a spare ticket for the pilot recording at Broadcasting House this Sunday. It's a late afternoon/early evening job (5-ish for doors but that's from memory). PM me if interested.

Not sure I agree with this since 99% of BBC7 output is old Radio 4 shows.

Actually, BBC 7 does have some more risque material. There is one show called Planet B, which isn't a comedy but sci-fi, but there was one episode set in some kind of Roman world. One scene was set in a kind of S/M dungeon and there was a reference to necrophilia. It was broadcast at around 6pm.
