Everybody loves the programme ... you hate it? Page 10

If the script wasn't by John Cleese and just sent in by a nobody off the street would it have got past first base?

But you could say the same thing about any script written by someone famous, or popular, or whatever! Of course it's going to help to have a big name attached, but I'm sure just as many things with names attached get turned down.

It's fine for something not to float your boat, but I think there's a difference between not liking something, and not liking something and then suggesting it's rubbish. I'm not massively keen on the Beatles, but I recognise they were a great band.

What is it you don't like about The Beatles if you don't mind me asking?

They're from Liverpool.

I have to agree The beatles are extremly over rated.

I've heard this many times. It seems to be popular to say this but has any group before or since produced so many hits? I mean there's hardly a record that could be said to be bad. My opinion. No. A hell of a lot of peoples opinion because they paid hard cash for their stuff and that made them one of the most successful groups of all time. That is all.

I like The Beatles a lot, and can see and understand how and why they're so important and highly regarded, but for me personally there are several other bands from that era I prefer. Such as The Who.

I'm a big Who fan also but that's fine. It is down to personal taste but saying The Beatles are over rated is like saying Mozart wasn't any good because he was popular then and still is now. Longevity is the key to greatness, unless your girlfriend drives you into a bridge of course.

They were pioneers, similar to Elvis in that they were different at the time and new and fresh.

Im just saying that I put their records on and Im not excited by them what so ever really.

But it's Stott saying it. When have we ever paid any attention to his opinions?

This is true. I must re-think my whole philosophy. Ok. Done.

Then shoot her in the head with a gun, watch out for the badgers though.

I never said the Beatles were overated though. Just that I liked The Who. Git. Unimpressed
