The Singing & Dancing Grimsby Cousins

A friend just sent me this sketch, made me chuckle. He gave me full permission to share with you fine people.

EXT. HIGH STREET – AFTERNOON

The high street is busy with people moving in and out of shops. It's a sunny day. A group of four women stand chatting. Guy and Sky approach the group. They are dressed oddly. Guy taps one of the ladies on the shoulder, the whole group turn to look at Guy and Sky.

GUY
Hi I'm Guy

SKY
Hi I'm Sky

GUY & SKY (TOGETHER)
And we're from Grimsby

GUY
We're second cousins

SKY
Bought together by marriage

GUY & SKY
And if you ask us nicely we'll sing a song

Guy and Sky link arms and begin to dance.

GUY & SKY
My old man's a dustman, he wears a dustman's hat, he bought ten thousand tickets to watch a football match, fatty passed to skinny, skinny passed it back, fatty took a rotten shot and knocked the goalie flat, where was the goalie when the ball was in the net, halfway up the goalpost with his trousers round his neck, singing umpa umpa stick it up your jumper, roar Britannia marmalade and jam, we threw sausages at your old man, we put him on a stretcher, we put him on a bed bed bed, we rubbed his belly with frying pan jelly, but the poor old sole was dead.

END.

The problem is that there isn't anything funny.

Can't imagine why your friend didn't want to post it himself.

Tell your 'friend' that the lead-up is not funny.

Also, the song is funny but not original - it's been sung around football terraces and been on the web for years.

Haha, yes well it was my 'friend' that wrote it, although now that you mention it I have heard that song before. That's what made me laugh. I know the fatty/ skinny rhymes but have never heard the 'my old mans a dustman'.

Oh well, I think the physical comedy could make this funny tho so...

That would make me laugh if it was performed well. Actually I think it's plain funny, but it's an anti joke which is not to everyone's taste.

The vague hint of incest followed by a nonsequitir made me smile.
