I watched Sounds Like Teen Spirit a couple of weeks back and it rocked several shades of cock.

Okay, does that mean you liked it or not?

You youngsters and your slang. :)

Imagine: John Lennon, surely. And The Aristocrats <clicks fingers, Drew Carey style>! And Hearts of Darkness was awesome on the big screen when I stupid student. Whereas the book Heart of Darkness by Joe Conrad was one of the dullest things I have ever read (obviously this was before I discovered BSG Forums).

The Aristocrats bored my friggin brain out - the same joke for nearly two hours? No ta.

Ramones: End of the century is a superb doc about one of the greatest bands of all time. Unmissable.

Nick Broomfield's Fetishes. I don't know why that appealed to me. Whistling nnocently

And Capturing the Friedman's was good.

Oh, and Spellbound. A really sweet film.

Ah yes, another top notch suggestion.

We like the same documentaries? Maybe you and I aren't so different after all, Chipolata. Let's get weird together.

What, we're both over thirty and our writing careers are going nowhere? :)

I couldn't have written it better myself. Really, I couldn't.

American Movie. Only seen it the once, but I loved it, so funny.

That's a magnificent doc, I'm so glad other people enjoy it too. It encourages you to press on when the world seems against you.

Came across this on YouTube... Paul Hamann's brilliant 1987 BBC documentary Fourteen Days In May, which follows the final days of a US death row inmate. I remember watching this as a kid and it made a powerful impact. (Look out for a young Clive Stafford Smith (now a prominent human rights lawyer) as the condemned man's appeal lawyer.) This is probably the last time that film-makers were given such unfettered access into the process (and lack of process) surrounding execution in the US.

Indeed. This is the one about the horror film, right? Genius.

That's the one, I really need to get a copy and watch it again.

Another cool, funny doc, that's been mentioned in other threads, is The King Of Kong, which I loved.

Touching The Void was great. :) Although I'm not sure if it's truly a documentary.

<<<----- Yes.

Also The Cove is quite good, and one of the Michael Moore ones. The one with the banks. I Heart Cooperation

Capturing the Friedmans

I watched this last night - plus the second disc of various extras - definitely one of the best documentaries about a child molestation witch hunt.

Indeed. Billy Mitchell has since reclaimed the Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Junior titles.
